AITourPilot Try Henry

Powerful for visitors. Straightforward for your museum.

You do not need a big project to find out whether this works for your visitors. We start small, in a focused part of your museum, and we do the building.

A first project

Small enough to say yes to.

We do the work

We prepare the content, set Henry up and get him live. Your part is to point us at your sources and to approve what he says.

You stay in control

You decide what he highlights, which sources he draws on, and how tightly the route is held. It is your museum’s interpretation; he carries it to every visitor.

Small, and low risk

A limited scope, real visitors, and an honest look at what happened. If it works we grow it together. If not, you spent very little finding out.

The route

From collection to conversation.

What happens, in order, and where your team comes into it.

  1. 01

    Connect

We bring your collection and the content you choose to share into AITourPilot, and ground it in your own published record.

  2. 02

    Configure

Your team defines and validates the experience: what Henry may draw on, what he leads with, and what he leaves to the label.

  3. 03

    Launch

Visitors meet Henry in your rooms, on the phone they already carry.

  4. 04

    Learn

You see what visitors asked, and what that says about how the collection is landing.

Requirements

What do we need from you?

  • Content

Whatever you already have: catalogue entries, wall texts, exhibition material, research. It does not need to be tidy, and it does not need to be complete.

  • Collection data

A list of what you want covered, with inventory numbers where they exist. If your collection is not digitised, that is a conversation, not a blocker.

  • Curatorial input

The part that cannot be outsourced. A curator reviews what Henry will say and decides what he may draw on. We prepare all of it first, so the work is reviewing and correcting rather than writing from scratch.

  • Hardware

None. Visitors use their own phone and earphones. There is nothing to buy, hand out, charge, clean or lose.

  • Infrastructure

We run the service, so there is nothing to install. Often we can work from what is already published; where a collection database or the building’s Wi-Fi comes into it, we work with your IT colleagues rather than around them.

  • Staff involvement

A named contact, and curator time for the review pass. Your visitor-facing staff have nothing to operate, unless you wish to involve them in the experience.

Funding

And we write the funding application.

Most first projects of this kind in this sector are funded rather than bought. The museum applies and owns the project; we write the application in the fund’s own format and deliver as the named supplier. You contribute the expert input and the approval. You do not have to drive the process.

Funds differ, and we read the rules for yours before anyone writes a word. In the ones we have worked with, a museum’s own staff time and its venue can count as its share.

  • You apply, you own it

The museum is the applicant and the project owner. We are the supplier named in the budget.

  • We do the writing

The application, in the fund’s format, ready for your name. You review it rather than write it.

  • No commitment afterwards

If it creates value, we look at next steps together. If not, your museum has seen for itself what a conversational guide does in your own rooms, with your own visitors – and what it does not.

Timing

How long does it take?

Once we have your material, Henry is ready in a couple of days. Your curators can then adapt the content.

What varies from museum to museum is not the build. It is getting the material together and the pass your curators make over it, and that we scope with you.

Let’s talk about your museum.
